Â
Chappell made the move to Middle Georgia from northwest Tennessee where she served as the assistant director of compliance at Middle Tennessee State for the 2023-24 athletic season. While with the Blue Raiders, she was charged with the daily NCAA compliance responsibilities for seven sports, including the certification of student-athletes for competition.
Â
Prior to her time in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Chappell served a similar position as an intern in the compliance department at UT Martin for two years (2021-23). That role overlapped a 16-month stint as a graduate research assistant in UT Martin’s athletics department in which she administered a sleep research study comparing preseason, in-season, and postseason sleep habits.
Â
A three-year captain of UT Martin’s women’s soccer team, Chappell played in 87 matches (83 starts) for the Skyhawks from 2017-21 and amassed more than 7,735 minutes of playing time on the pitch. As a senior, she helped pace UTM to its second (2018) Ohio Valley Conference championship in four years on the way to logging both team Most Valuable Player and OVC Defensive Player of the Year laurels. She was also named UTM’s 2022 Bettye Giles Co-Female Athlete of the Year.
Â
A native of Flushing, Mich., Chappell earned her bachelor’s degree in health and human performance from UT Martin in 2021. She completed her master’s of business administration at UTM in 2022.
