MACON, Ga. – The annual Bear Brawl and a trip to Georgia Tech’s tournament highlight the 2009 Mercer volleyball schedule as released by head coach Noelle Rooke on Thursday. In addition to nine formidable non-conference matchups, the Bears face a pair of contests against each Atlantic Sun team in hopes of improving on last year’s 13-7 conference mark.

MACON — Mercer University will add men’s NCAA D-I lacrosse to its intercollegiate athletic program during the 2010-2011 academic year and will add a Division I women’s team in 2011-2012, athletics director Bobby Pope announced today. Mercer is the first NCAA Division I institution in the state to announce the addition of lacrosse to its athletic program.

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's basketball overnight and elite camps have hit the University Center courts in full force this week, as over 300 local aspiring players have joined Mercer staff for the four day camps. The overnight camp is designed to teach and develop basketball skills to girls 6-17, while the elite camp offers advanced instruction and intense competition among high-level players, designed to help campers get their game to the next level.

MACON, Ga. - Mercer head coach Grant Serafy opened his annual summer girls soccer camps on Monday, hosting a day camp with aspiring players from ages 6-16. Campers received instruction from Serafy, the Atlantic Sun Coach of the Year, as well as assistance and demonstrations from a handful of current and former Mercer players. Among the drills the campers practiced on the opening day included shielding, possession dribbling, and the Cruyff turn.
