MACON, Ga. – Mercer University’s youthful women’s lineup turned in another strong effort to take second place in its own 10^th annual RunFit Sports Invitational on Saturday at the Georgia Industrial Children’s Home. The Bears garnered the runner-up finish from among 11 full teams and 97 total runners in the event.

Sophomore Lena Hamvas (Marietta, Ga.) was MU’s top finisher, garnering a third in the overall race standings. Hamvas covered the 5K course in a time of 19:27.38 to lead a caravan of three-consecutive Bears to cross the finish line.

Following Hamvas – in fourth place overall – was fellow sophomore Sammy Woller (Waukesha, Wis.). Woller finished at 19:30.38 for her second-consecutive top-five finish. Fifth place belonged to Mercer senior Christina Kivi (Valdosta, Ga.) at 19:56.30.

The Bears’ final two scoring members were sophomore Kylen Hughes (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) and freshman Iliana Garcia (Mobile, Ala.). Hughes was 10^th place overall n a time of 20:24.52, while Garcia was 14^th (20:41.23).
