Woller Leads the Pack at Remembrance Run; Bears 3rd as a Team
AMERICUS, Ga. – Mercer head coach Ryan Bailey’s women’s cross country team – competing with a mix of varsity and JV runners – still managed a third place team finish at the Georgia Southwestern Remembrance Run on Saturday. Sophomore Sammy Woller was the top finisher among collegiate runners, completing the 5K course in a time of 19:46.4 minutes.
Fellow sophomore Lena Hamvas was fifth among the college runners, finishing the race at 20:37.1.
Freshman Illiana Garcia and junor Kasie Knapper finished 13th and 19th, respectively. Garcia crossed the line at 20:54.5, while Knapper turned in a performance of 21:44.9.
Sophomore Caley Cranford was MU’s fifth scoring runner at22:29.1, good for 27th place.
