Volleyball Hosts UNF in Dig for the Cure Matchup
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer volleyball team is set to host the annual “Dig for the Cure” match on Friday, hosting North Florida at 7 p.m. The Bears will wear pink and encourage fans to do so as well in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
Mercer will welcome a breast cancer survivor to take part in the ceremonial “First Serve” of the match before challenging the Lady Ospreys. UNF (4-13, 1-1 A-Sun) is winners of two of its last three matches, including a 3-0 shutout of A-Sun member Stetson on Oct. 1.
Mercer (6-14, 0-2 A-Sun) aims to rebound after falling to Belmont 3-0 in its last outing. UNF owns an 8-4 lead in the all-time series between the teams, but last season the Bears swept the Lady Ospreys in two regular season meetings.
