Volleyball to Host UNC Wilmington in Halloween Matinee
MACON, Ga. – Just hours after suffering a five-set loss at the hands of Campbell, the Mercer volleyball team returns to action hosting UNC Wilmington at the University Center. The event will also serve as a costume party for those in attendance.
Costumes worn by fans in attendance will be judged between the second and third sets. Prizes will be awarded to winners!

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Mercer sophomore Jamie Duffy tallied a career-high 20 kills, but her effort wasn’t enough to stop Campbell from claiming a 3-2 (25-19, 21-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-13) victory in Saturday night’s Atlantic Sun Conference volleyball match at Gore Arena.
SCOUTING THE OPPPOSITION
UNC Wilmington is 7-18 (1-9 CAA) after falling to Georgia State 3-1 on Saturday evening.
The Seahawks return three starters from last year’s team that finished 13-18 (3-11 CAA). Senior outside hitter Kelli Clear paces the team with 225 kills and ranks second on the roster in digs (236).
UNC Wilmington is 4-7 on the road this season while Mercer is 6-2 at the University Center.

Mercer ranks 263 in the most recent NCAA RPI report while UNC Wilmington checks in at 244 in the same report.
Junior Charlotte Harris collected a match-high 35 digs against Campbell, extending her conference-leading dig total to 508. With four regular season matches remaining, Harris’ 508 digs is the fourth highest single-season total in program history.
UNC Wilmington and Mercer have faced four common opponents this season. UNC Wilmington defeated South Carolina State 3-0 while Mercer fell to the Bulldogs in five sets. Both UNC Wilmington and Mercer fell to N.C. State in three sets. UNC Wilmington bested Campbell in four sets while Mercer fell to the Camels 3-2. UNC Wilmington defeated North Carolina Central 3-2 while the Bears topped the Eagles in straight sets.
