MACON, Ga. – Despite already being ruled out of postseason contention, the Mercer women's tennis team closes out A-Sun play with two home matches against ETSU and USC Upstate.
Last Time Out
On the women's side, the Bears trio of freshmen performed well on Tuesday as Isabel Dennis (No. 2 singles), Roxy Bartz (No. 4 singles) and Natalie Franklin (No. 5 singles) all won their matches, but it would not be enough to take the road victory.
Dennis took down Zoe Bizinos, 6-3, 6-0 for her eighth win in singles this season. Bartz secured a three set victory over JSU's Kelly Tomlin, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 which is her third win in her last four matches. Finally, Natalie Franklin earned a 6-4, 6-4 straight-set win over Aleksandra Cmilijic to take her third win in the last four as well.
Mercer was outdueled in the doubles portion of the match as Roxy Bartz and Natalie Franklin were the lone team to pick up a win at the No. 2 doubles position – an 8-5 win over Cmilijic and Nguyen.
The ETSU women come into the match with a 6-0 conference record. In conference play, the Lady Bucs have only lost three singles matches combined.
The team is led by Antonia Kolovou who is 13-2 in dual match play.
