MACON, Ga. – The Mercer sand volleyball team completed its season on Sunday's final day of the Atlantic Sun Championship, competing in five flighted Pairs Championships.  Mercer's five pairings went 1-5 on the day, highlighted by a win in the third flight for Emily Rochefort and Caroline Carlton.

Due to the threat of inclement weather, the Pairs Championship was switched to a single-set format with a win awarded to the first team to reach 28 points.  Rochefort and Carlton defeated Jacksonville's Cullen and Teplitz, 28-19 to advance to a second match against North Florida's third-flight representatives.

Rochefort and Carlton battled hard in the second round, but were ultimately edged by UNF's Julie Trembley and Britt Claessens 28-25.  Mercer fell in the first round of each of the other four flights, completing the inaugural season of sand volleyball.
