Bears Fall to A-Sun Leader ETSU, 6-1

 

MACON, Ga. – Atlantic Sun Conference leader East Tennessee State University took a 6-1 decision over Mercer's women's tennis team on Saturday morning at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center. The loss dropped the Bears' record to 4-13 overall and 1-8 in A-Sun play.

 

The Buccaneers swept all three doubles matches to earn the first team point of the day. ETSU then went on to score straight-set victories in five of the six singles competitions.

 

Mercer garnered its point at No. 4 singles where freshman Lucie Payrat extended her personal win streak to eight matches with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) win over the Bucs' Karina Kedzo. Payrat is now 12-5 in singles play in 2011.
