Women's Tennis Defeated by Campbell
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team came out on the short end of a 6-1 score in a loss to Campbell University in an Atlantic Sun Conference match at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center.
The Camels won the first team point of the day by sweeping all three doubles matches. CU would go on to take five of the six singles competitions, as well. All six singles matches were decided in straight sets.
The lone win for the Bears came at No. 4 singles, where freshman Lucie Payrat was victorious. Payrat made short work of Campbell's Dominek Wallaart, 6-1, 6-1, as she improved her personal record to 10-5 overall and 6-2 in the A-Sun.
Payrat is the first MU player to reach double-digit win totals in singles play in 2011. She has won six-consecutive matches, as well.
