Bears Women's Tennis Loses at North Flordia
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Mercer lost a 6-1 decision at the University of North Florida, the fourth-place team in the Atlantic Sun Conference, on Friday afternoon. The Bears fell to 2-10 overall and 0-5 in the A-Sun.
The Ospreys swept all three doubles matches to earn the first team point of the day. UNF dominated in singles, winning five of the six matches and all in straight sets.
The lone victory on the day for Mercer came from freshman Lucie Payrat at the No. 4 position. Payrat won a three-set victory over North Florida's Melanie Aguirre. The duo split the first two sets, with Payrat winning the first, 6-3, and Aguirre the second, 7-5.
In the third set super-tiebreaker, Payrat emerged with a 10-7 win to take the team point for Mercer.
