Lada Earns First A-Sun Weekly Women's Tennis Honor of 2010

MACON, Ga. - Mercer University's Jennifer Lada has been named as the first recipient of the Atlantic Sun Conference "Player of the Week" award in women's tennis for the 2010 season.  It is also the first POTW honor of Lada's career with the Bears.

In last week's lone match, Lada led Mercer's assault on Alabama State University, 7-0, last Sunday in Atlanta. 

The sophomore Lada earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory over the Hornets' Brittany Turner at the No. 1 singles position. She then teamed with Amalia Bugge at the No. 2 doubles slot and was a part of an 8-0 blanking of ASU's tandem of Shameka Williams and Safiya Taylor.

Lada is a political science major from Biarritz, France.
