Three Bears Picked Among Top Players To Watch In A-Sun

MACON, Ga – As the Mercer women’s soccer team continues to prepare for the 2010 season, three players were recognized by topdrawer.com in a list of the Top 20 players to watch in the Atlantic Sun.

Seniors Kacie Hudson, Sara Elliot and junior Olivia Tucker were All A-Sun selections from last season and will lead the way for the Bears from the respective positions in 2010. Tucker, the Bears leading scorer the past two seasons, was tabbed as the third overall player to watch. She was fifth in the A-Sun with eight goals.

“I am certainly proud of all three of these great players,” head coach Grant Serafy said. “They all had great seasons last year, came out and prepared this offseason and we are ready for them to continue that this season.”

Hudson, a defender is a three-time All A-Sun performer and anchors one of the top defenses in the conference. The Marietta native has started every game of her career for the Orange and Black and was the 11th overall player on the list.

Elliot is coming off a breakout season that saw the junior place second on the team in total points with four goals and two assists. She received her first post-season accolades in 2009 being named a Second Team All A-Sun player and was the 12th ranked player of the 20 released by topdrawer.com.

Top Drawer Soccer is a nationally renowned website that covers both men’s and women’s college soccer and club soccer. The publication ranks the top 20 players in every Division I conference while also generating conference previews that are expected to be released in the coming days.
