Serafy Adds One to 2011 Recruiting Class

MACON, Ga. – Mercer women's soccer head coach Grant Serafy announced Wednesday the addition of Taylor Dias to his 2011 recruiting class.

The Bears originally signed six players back in February, but Serafy is happy to add the services of Dias to the roster for the fall 2011 season.

"We are pleased to add Taylor to our program," Serafy said. "She is a great kid, a good student, and has the athletic tools and character to potentially develop into a solid player for our program."

Dias played her high school soccer at Druid Hills High School in Atlanta and was a four-year player for head coach Trey Palmer. Dias recently graduated in the top 10 percent of her class and was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and was a recipient of the Dekalb County Superintendent's Award.

In her high school career, she was selected to the Dekalb County All-Star Team and was a captain as a junior and senior.  Her team selected her as the MVP both her freshman and senior seasons and she will provide coach Serafy with more options on his roster as the Bears recently lost seven seniors to graduation.

Dias also played club soccer for the Gwinnett Soccer Association.
