Bears Struggle in Day 2 of LPGA Intl. Xavier Invitational
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Mercer University’s women’s golf team struggled in the second round of the LPGA Intl. Xavier Invitational, amassing a score of 319 as it slipped into a 10th place tie at the event. The Bears have a 36-hole total of 631.
Freshman Lacey Fears slipped from 15th place to a tie for 36th after an uncharacteristic round of 81 on Saturday and a total of 158 through 36 holes. Alicia Poole carded her second-consecutive round of 79 to find herself tied with Fears in the individual standings
Kaitlin Marrin has a two-day aggregate of 156 with successive rounds of 78 as the Bears’ leader. Marrin is currently tied for 22nd place overall.
Mary Alice Murphy also had an off day for MU with an 82 after Friday’s 78 score. Aurielie Wiriath had her second-straight day with an 81 to round out the Bears’ scoring.
The tournament concludes on Sunday.
