Wiriath, Murphy Named NGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Florida  – Roger M. Yaffe, Executive Director of the National Golf Coaches Association, has announced that Mercer’s Aurelie Wiriath and Mary Alice Murphy have both been selected All-American Scholar Recipients for the 2010-11 academic year.

The criteria for selection are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. Recipients must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 while also competing in over half of the tournaments played by their respective team.

Wiriath is a rising junior from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and is majoring in medicine. Murphy is a rising sophomore from Lookout Mountain, Tenn., completeing coursework for a degree in political science.
