Kelley Bedrosian begins her third-full season at Mercer as the
top assistant and the first under new head coach James DeFeo.
During her two seasons in the dugout, Bedrosian saw her role increase as she managed and maintained the day-to-day operations of the Bears’ program. Her management responsibilities included organizing all of the team’s travel plans, coordination of the team budget, program fundraising and community relations. In 2010, she was also responsible for running in-season practices including help guide infield, outfield and hitting workouts for the Bears.
She served as the Bears’ team academic advisor as well and helped implement mental training sessions into the Bears’ weekly training program.
Coach Bedrosian understands the Bears’ program well having played her four-year collegiate softball career at Mercer. Her senior season she played under the guidance of coach Mike Raynor in 2007 and still holds the program single-season record for games started (64) and tops the career charts for games started (232) and games played (233). As a standout player at Mercer, Bedrosian served as the backbone of a stalwart defense and also proved to be one of the most durable players in Bears' history.
Bedrosian, while receiving her bachelor’s degree in
business, gained an immense amount of experience on and off the
field playing second base for the Bears. Just prior to being named
assistant coach, Bedrosian completed coursework for her M.B.A.
degree in Mercer’s Stetson School of Business.
Bedrosian will again assist in all facets of the Bear’s team development this season including hitting and defense.
