2012: In her sophomore season, Rea appeared in 43 games with 42 of those being starts… Helped lead the Bears defensively with a .954 fielding percentage…Scored 17 runs in 2012, two of those being homeruns in games against USC Upstate (3/30) and Stetson (4/12)… Posted four multi-hit performances with her season high being three against Jacksonville (4/6)… She had one multi-RBI game against USC Upstate (3/30).

 

2011: Stepped into a starting role in the Bears’ infield at third base…Started 47 of 49 games that she played in 2011…Tied for fourth on the team with 33 hits in 124 at bats as a freshman…Batted .266 and was second on the team with six home runs…Her 27 RBI and .491 slugging percentage were third best on the team…She had six multi-RBI games and six multi-hit games in 2011…Had a seven-game stretch where she recorded at least one RBI…Also strung together a five-game hitting streak at the end of the regular season and into the conference tournament…She was defensively sound in her freshman year as well, maintaining a .952 fielding percentage to go along with just five errors at third base… Recorded her first-career home run at the Phyllis Rafter Memorial Tournament against Mississippi St.(2/25)…She had a her first-career grand slam in a 8-0 shutout against Austin Peay(3/4)…Recorded a solo home run in a 4-0 shutout against Big East foe Connecticut(3/7)…Had three RBI and a home run in back-to-back games against Samford(3/10)…Had a season-high three hits in a 6-3 loss to Campbell(3/19)…Had two hits in a 2-1 win over Campbell in the A-Sun Tournament.

 

High School: Was a three-year varsity player at Collins High School in Lawrenceville, Ga. for head coach Billy Dooley…Named to the All-State Team in 2009…Was a two-time All-Region selection in 2008 and ’09…Also named a two-time All-County player in 2008 and ’09…Was a member of the Collins High softball region and state championship team in 2009…Graduated with honors and was a three-time Scholar Athlete at Collins High…She was a member of the National Honors Society, Latin Honors Society and won the Atlanta Journal Constitution Cup Award for best all-around senior.

 

Personal: Chose Mercer because of the high academic standards and medical program…Names the Atlanta Braves as her favorite sports team and Mickey Mantle as her favorite athlete…Is the daughter of Anne and Joel Rea and has a younger brother, Michael…Majoring in mathematics.
