Skeen Paces Bears at Remembrance Run
AMERICUS, Ga. – Mercer senior Geremy Skeen ran a time of
28:42.8 for the 8K course at the second annual Georgia Southwestern
Remembrance Run to pace MU’s entries in the event. Skeen was
21st in the overall standings.
“Geremy has been a solid runner and a consistent contributor for the team," said MU head coach Ryan Bailey. "He had some minor setbacks in his off-season training, so I wanted to take him and give him an extra chance to race and I think it paid off because he took 47 seconds off his time from the UGA meet.
"Geremy has a great work-ethic and he loves to race. Georgia Southwestern’s race-course is a little less hilly than our home course, but otherwise is very similar, so I think the race was a good prelude for the Mercer RunFit race on the September 17."
Freshman Joel Aguilar was the Bears’ only other entrant, clocking in a time of 31:10.3.
