Cross Country Ready to Run at NCAA South Regionals
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Mercer University will close out the 2011 cross country season when its men’s and women’s teams run at the NCAA South Regionals, hosted by Alabama on Saturday. The men’s 10K race begins at 11 a.m. ET, followed by the women’s 6K event at 12:15 p.m. ET at the Harry Pritchett Running Park.
Representing the Bears in the men’s race will be sophomore Sony Prosper (Pompano Beach, Fla.), junior Jacob Law (Crestwood, Ky.), junior Chris Svidesskis (Marietta, Ga.), junior Andrew Weems (Johnson City, Tenn.), senior Marc Kushinka (Bonaire, Ga.), freshman Josh Pendley (Oakwood, Ga.) and sophomore Kasib Abdullah (Warner Robins, Ga.).
The Mercer women’s team will be made up of junior Kacie Niemann (Crestwood, Ky.), sophomore Lena Hamvas (Marietta, Ga.), Samantha Woller (Waukesha, Wis.), senior Christina Kivi (Valdosta, Ga.), sophomore Kylen Hughes (Chagrin Falls, Ohio), freshman Illiana Garcia (Mobila, Ala.) and junior Kasie Knapper (Fayetteville, Ga.).
