Prosper Paces Bears at NCAA South Regionals
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Mercer University sophomore Sony Prosper booked the third-fastest 10 kilometer time in school history as he led the men’s cross country team at the NCAA South Regionals hosted by Alabama at the Harry Pritchett Running. As a team, the Bears were 16th out of the 24 entered teams.
Prosper kept intact his streak of being the team’s top finisher in every race this season, crossing the line in a time of 32:42.50. Prosper’s effort was good for 44th place overall.
Junior Chris Svidesskis was 69th overall as MU’s second finisher in a time of 33:20.70. Fellow juniors Andrew Weems and Jacob Law were Mercer’s third and fourth finishers, crossing the finish line consecutively. Weems hit the tape at 33:46.70 (96th), while Law crossed at 33:51.60 (97th).
Senior Marc Kushinka closed out his Mercer career as the team’s fifth and final scoring runner in a time of 34:14.90. Kushinka was 111th, overall.
