Bears' Pair Finishes in Tie for Third at Southern Intercollegiate Championships

UPDATED RESULTS (Day 3)

ATHENS, Ga. – As rain played havoc with the third day of the Southern Intercollegiate Championships, Mercer's doubles team of Evandro Rosindo and Peter Tauchner had a big finish.

The Bears' duo got a walk-over win versus Elon University's Cody MacDowell and Alberto Rojas to advance to the semifinals of the Division II bracket. In the semis, Rosindo and Tauchner battled the tandem from UNC-Wilmington, Illie Kiemstov and Kosta Blank. In a hard-fought contest, the UNCW team scratched out a 9-7 victory over the Mercer pair, leaving Rosindo and Tauchner in a tie for third in the standings.
