Henry Called up to St. Kitts-Nevis National Football Team

MACON, Ga. – Sophomore forward Ehjayson Henry received the highest of honors on Monday morning when he was called up to play for his St. Kitts-Nevis National Football Team in the Caribbean Football Union Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

 

A native of Harris Village, St. Kitts, Henry left to join the national team on Sunday afternoon as the squad prepares to host the final stage of the Caribbean qualifying tournament on November 24-28 in Basseterre.

 

The four-team tournament features the countries Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Cuba and host St. Kitts-Nevis. The top two teams at the conclusion of the tournament will join the United States, Canada, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras and Panama in the final qualifying stage of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Men’s Olympic tournament.

 

St. Kitts-Nevis takes on Suriname on the 24th, Trinidad & Tobago on the 26th and Cuba on the 28th at either 5 p.m. or 7 p.m. EST each day.

 

Henry had a stellar first campaign with the Bears after transferring to Mercer from Penn State University. The dynamic forward finished tied for first on the team with five goals and second on the squad with 11 total points.
