Jonathan Howard became the Bears’ Director of Basketball Operations in the summer of 2011. He is responsible for a myriad of duties, not the least of which is handling day-to-day office operations, travel plans and meal arrangements for the MU team.

Howard was with the Mercer program, serving as the team’s chaplain and volunteer graduate manager from 2009-11, as well. Among his duties were leading team devotionals, as well as assisting with game-day operations, laundry and practice, among other responsibilities.

Howard has also worked numerous youth summer camps and as a recreation intern in various church ministries over the years.

Howard earned his bachelor’s degree in communications, with a minor in history, from Oklahoma University in 2006. He also earned his Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2011.

Howard and his wife, Mandie, were married in July of 2007. The couple resides in Macon.
