MACON, Ga. – After leading the Mercer men's basketball team to a 21-win regular season, sophomore guard Langston Hall has been recognized as an Atlantic Sun All-Conference first team selection in an announcement made by the conference office Monday.

"I think there's a lot of years where you can say All-Conference honors are team awards, but this year it's more true than normal," Mercer head coach Bob Hoffman said. "This award represents a team award because he's the ultimate team player and his success is determined by how he leads this squad."

Hall's recognition is his second career A-Sun postseason award after landing a spot on the All-Freshmen team last season.

Hall, who currently sports team bests in points (351) and assists (123) is one of the league's most versatile players.  At the conclusion of the regular season, Hall ranks among the league's best in scoring (16th), assists (5th), free-throw percentage (7th), three-point field goal percentage (13th), three-point field goals made (12th), assist-to-turnover ratio (4th) and minutes played (5th).

A pass-first point guard, Hall has booked five or more assists on 11 occasions and led or tied for the  team in scoring 11 times.  In one seven-game stretch between November 23, 2011 and December 20, 2011, he scored in double figures in every game.

His sophomore campaign has also featured four 20+ point performances, highlighted by a career-high 24 point effort against Sam Houston State on November 23, 2011.

"Langston has been a true team leader this season and continues to grow into a high level point guard," Hoffman said.

Hall aims to make his 64th consecutive start on Wednesday night as No. 2 Mercer plays host to No. 7 Lipscomb in the opening round of the 2012 Atlantic Sun Tournament.  Game time at the University Center is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
