MACON, Ga. – Mercer Athletics has announced that the football team's inaugural "Meet the Bears" event, sponsored by State Bank and Trust has been scheduled for September 6 at the Tony and Nancy Moye Family Football and Lacrosse Complex.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., players and coaches will be on hand signing official team posters, posing for pictures and interacting with fans.  Attendees also have the opportunity to tour the Homer and Ruth Drake Field House.  The event will also coincide with the official release of the 2013 schedule, along with the unveiling of the team's uniform.

"These are the moments we've been waiting for a long time," Mercer head football coach Bobby Lamb said.  "We're excited to welcome our fan base to our new home and give them a chance to meet the first class of new the Mercer football era."

Admission to the event is free, with parking provided in the university parking lot located beyond the right field wall of the baseball stadium.  Mercer Village vendors will be available with food for purchase.
