2012 (Freshman): Was hands down one of the best freshman at any position in the country last season due to his phenomenal numbers at the plate ... Appeared in 59 games, making 58 starts ... Finished third in the A-Sun with a .367 batting average ... Ranked in the top-10 in the A-Sun Conference in sacrifice bunts (1st - 18), on-base percentage (4th - .443), doubles (T-5th - 16) and hits (7th - 79) ... Finished second on the team with 25 multi-hit games, fourth with 37 RBI and tied for fourth with 42 runs scored ... Absolutely wore out right-handed pitching to the tune of a .380 clip (62-of-163) and showed a clutch gene by batting .419 (26-of-62) with runners in scoring position ... Was recognized for his outstanding first season with the Bears when he was named a Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American and became the first player in program history voted the A-Sun Conference Freshman of the Year.
