2011 (Freshman): Made significant contributions on the mound, at the dish and in the field as a second baseman and right-handed pitcher for Coach Gibson … Appeared in 49 games as a true freshman, making 47 starts all at second base … Hit .263 on the year with 10 doubles and 21 RBI … Worked primarily as a middle reliever on the mound, putting up a team-low 1.91 ERA in 17 appearances … Had a 1-2 overall record with two saves while striking out 31 batters in 33.0 innings pitched … Also excelled in the field, accumulating a .985 fielding percentage from his second base position … Was recognized for his versatility and talent both on the mound and in the field by being one of just 25 players named to the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award Watch List ...
