MACON, Ga. – After an over two hour rain delay in the bottom of the second, the Mercer baseball team’s mid-week tilt with Harvard was called on the count of unplayable field conditions on Tuesday evening at Claude Smith Field.
Steady rain had been falling in Macon all morning and afternoon, but both squads decided to give it a go due to improving conditions.
With the game tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the second, however, the rains returned forcing the game to be called after the lengthy delay.
Mercer now sets its sights on a huge Atlantic Sun Conference showdown with No. 30 Stetson in Deland starting on Friday. Game one of the three-game series is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Melching Field.
