Mercer Baseball Receives Votes in Two Top-25 Polls

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer baseball team is beginning to garner national attention for its outstanding play this season after receiving votes in two of the four major college baseball Top-25 polls released on Monday night.

Mercer received votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division I Poll (NCBWA) and the USA TODAY/ESPN Top 25 coaches' baseball poll.

This is the fourth appearance by the Bears in the NCBWA poll and their second in the USA TODAY poll, however, it marks the first time all season that Mercer has received votes in both polls at the same time.

The Bears are currently riding a five-game winning streak and enter tonight’s game at Georgia State with a 21-9 overall record and an 8-6 Atlantic Sun Conference mark. After this past weekend’s sweep of A-Sun rival Campbell, Mercer’s ratings percentage index (RPI) rose to 63rd in the country.
