| Athletic Media Relations | |
| Assists with publicity and coverage of Mercer's varsity athletic teams. Will be responsible to research, compile and add statistics and records from Mercer legacy sports and current sports to mercerbears.com. The intern will also help to organize digital photo files. Will have game-day responsibilities at various sporting events. | |
| Brand Management | |
| Work directly with senior leadership team and external team to enhance the athletic department’s brand management. Ideal candidates have a strong background in writing and/or graphic design. A pillar of our department will be exceptional fan experience. In order to do this, we must be able to share stories and experiences related to CMU athletics. | |
| Compliance | |
| Essential duties will be to prepare initial-eligibility assessments for incoming high school prospects, create rules education fliers for student-athletes, assist with coaches and staff compliance education initiatives, review phone call logs, contact and evaluation records and analyze data using ARMS and NCAA Compliance Assistant software. Additional duties will include maintaining student-athlete files to ensure that all required NCAA and conference documentation is up-to-date, assist with monitoring student-athlete employment and verify information with employers, assist with maintaining the student-athlete database, input all demographic and academic information, design and run reports as needed. Other duties as assigned. | |
| Equipment | |
| Assists with procuring, supervising, and maintaining inventories, such as all athletic uniform, footwear, and equipment of athletic teams. Assist with practice set-up for assigned sport, drills during practice, and the storage of practice equipment. Learn proper techniques in equipment, footwear, and apparel fitting. Provide storage area for all athletic equipment and supervise laundry and locker room maintenance. | |
| Event Management | |
| Assists with planning and management of events. Coordinates and assists with setup and breakdown of events. | |
| Marketing & Promotions | |
| Help develop, manage and execute digital marketing programs, promotions and campaigns for digital channels to include: social media advertising, website management, and other initiatives as approved by senior management. | |
| Multimedia | |
| Gain hands-on learning experience related to game-day production. Assists with publicity and external communications efforts through the department’s media services, graphics and video efforts, as well as its official website. | |
| Operations Assistant | |
| Assist various sports programs with day-to-day administrative support. Will be modeled around student interests and program needs. Areas of involvement may include travel, practice plans, general day-to-day operations. | |
| Student-Athlete Support Services (Academics) | |
| Interns will assist the Student-Athlete Support Services staff in various tasks related to the academic performance and enrichment of student-athlete as well as administrative duties. | |
| Tickets | |
| Assist with the daily operations of the ticket office using TIXR.com ticketing software and ARMS. This position will provide the intern experience in operating a ticket office for multiple intercollegiate athletics, managing events, and data collection and organization. Other various duties may include processing ticket orders, administering player pass lists and assisting with renewal call campaigns. |
