Eric Carter enters his first season as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Mercer University. Carter will work primarily with the baseball and cheerleading teams at Mercer while providing support at all home events.
Carter comes to Mercer after serving as an athletic training intern at Fairmont State University in Fairmont, West Virginia. Before that, Carter worked as an athletic training student assistant at the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida that featured West Virginia taking on Florida State.
Carter graduated from West Virginia University in May of 2011 with a bachelor of science in athletic training. His clinical experience at WVU includes working with a multitude of teams including football, women’s tennis, baseball, volleyball and cheerleading. Carter responsibilities with his teams included wound care, injury prevention, athlete hydration/nutrition, injury evaluation, injury rehabilitation and documentation.
A native of Beaverton, Oregon, Carter is a member of the National Athletic Training Association and the American College of Sports Medicine. He will be pursuing a master’s degree in education while at Mercer.
