Volleyball Hits the Road to Challenge FAMU
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer volleyball team returns to action with a mid-week test at Florida A&M Tuesday night. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m.

RALEIGH, N.C. – Mercer senior Krista Hurley had 13 kills in two matches, but the Bears fell to both North Carolina State and Georgia Southern on the second day of the North Carolina State tournament. Mercer was first nipped by the Wolfpack, 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-15) and then fell to Georgia Southern 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-16).

Florida A&M
FAMU (0-6, 0-0 MEAC) is winless this season after most recently falling to No. 5 Illinois on Sept. 4. The Rattlers return six starters from last year’s team that finished 17-10 (9-0 MEAC). The Rattlers have won the MEAC Tournament each of the last nine seasons and have captured at least 14 victories in every season since 1998.
The Rattlers feature a balanced offensive attack. Sophomore Maria Ceccarelli and freshmen Katherine Huanec and Pamela Barrera have each tallied over 40 kills in the team’s first six matches.
Florida A&M owns the all-time series with Mercer, 20-4. The last time the teams met, Oct. 6 of last year, the Rattlers claimed a 3-1 victory. Mercer has not defeated FAMU since 1997.

Libero Charlotte Harris has racked up 193 digs in 40 sets, ranking the junior first among A-Sun players in digs per set (4.82).
Mercer has out-blocked its opponent in six of its 12 matches. The Bears are 2-4 when out-blocking its opponent, and are ranked fourth among A-Sun teams in the category (2.08 b/s).
