Women's Tennis Topped by Hatters, 7-0

MACON, Ga. – Mercer's women's tennis squad was shutout versus Stetson University, 7-0, on Friday afternoon at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center.

The loss was the fifth in a row for the Bears (2-7, 0-3 A-Sun), while the Hatters (11-1, 3-1) won their second straight match.

Stetson swept all three doubles matches and won all six singles bouts in straight sets. At third singles, senior Amalia Bugge battled in the first set before suffering a 7-6 (8-5) loss to SU's Shannon Gunning. Gunning won the second set, 6-0.

MU will try to right the ship on Saturday (2 p.m.) by hosting Florida Gulf Coast.
