team on foot, he was also one of the team’s top academic
athletes and was recognized as an Atlantic Sun Conference Scholar
Athlete as a senior.
Adams name can be found prominently displayed in the Bears’
recordbook. He owns the second-fastest 5K time in school history
when he ran a 16:09 at South Carolina in 2009. He also registered
the third-best 10K time at the NCAA regionals, hosted by Alabama,
with a clocking of 33:37. Adams also posted the No. 8 time for an
8K race in 2008, booking a 26:27.86 on Auburn’s course.
Adams came to Mercer by way of Collins Hill High School (2006),
where he graduated with honors. He ran both cross country and track
for the Eagles.
Adams selected Mercer to contine his education due to its
“great atmosphere and smaller classes.”
The Suwanee, Ga. native graduated from Mercer in the spring of 2010
with a biomedical engineering degree. He is the son of Ed and
Peggy Adams.
