Men’s Soccer Ranked 10th in NSCAA Regional Poll
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men’s soccer team received its first-ever regional ranking in program history on Monday afternoon when it appeared as the No. 10 team in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America South Regional Poll.
The Bears took the place of Stetson as the No. 10 ranked team in the South Region after defeating the Hatters 1-0 at home on October 14.
Mercer is joined in the South Regional Poll by two other Atlantic Sun squads with FGCU ranked No. 6 in the region and ETSU holding down the No. 8 position.
The South Region is one of the toughest in the country, featuring five teams ranked in the top 30 nationally (#3 North Carolina, #18 Duke, #20 South Carolina, #25 College of Charleston and #27 Central Florida).
Mercer is back in action next weekend when it travels to Jacksonville, Fla. for a pair of pivotal A-Sun Conference matches. The Bears take on UNF on October, 21 at 7 p.m. and Jacksonville on October 23 at 7 p.m.
