ORLANDO, Fla. – Mercer golfer Matt Kocolowski shot a four-under, 68 to win the US Open local qualifier at the Walt Disney resort in Orlando, Fla. on Thursday. Kocolowski outpaced 93 other competitors at the event.

The Mercer men’s golf team has been awarded the Presidential Scholastic Award, as was announced on Sunday evening. The award is given bi-annually to the Mercer athletic team with the highest cumulative GPA in a given semester.

The Mercer men’s golf team posted the third-lowest score of the day in the final round of this year’s Atlantic Sun Championship at the Legends Course at Chateau Elan. Mercer’s final round of 292 gave the Bears a fifth place finish at the event.
