Mercer Football to Sell Gear from Inaugural Season

MACON, Ga. – With the historic first season of the Mercer football program in the books, head coach Bobby Lamb has announced official game helmets and game-worn black jerseys are being sold on a first-come first-serve basis.

Official game helmets are available for $250.00 and game-worn black jerseys can be purchased for $100.00. Fans interested in these items can contact Penny Pitts by phone at 478-301-2713 or by email at pitts_pl@mercer.edu.

Mercer is coming off an historic season that saw the Bears set the NCAA Division I record for wins by a first-year program, going 10-2 and recording a third place finish in the Pioneer Football League.

Redshirt freshman quarterback John Russ picked up PFL Offensive Player of the Year honors and is a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award as the top FCS freshman in the country, while Lamb is in the running for the Eddie Robinson Award as the National Coach of the Year.

This one-time offer is a chance to purchase a piece of history as Mercer will sign its first scholarship recruiting class in February 2014 and make the transition to the Southern Conference next fall.
