MU Pep Band Invited to Open for "Blast!" on October 4

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer University Pep Band has been invited to open for the show “Blast!” this coming Tuesday (Oct. 4) at The Grand Opera House in Macon, it was announced by MU pep band director Doug Cowden. The “Blast!” show in Macon is the touring company of the two-time Tony Award winning Broadway musical event.

Mercer’s pep band will play beginning at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday evening and perform for approximately 45 minutes, according to Cowden.

“We are extremely honored to have this incredible opportunity,” said Cowden, who is in his fifth year heading up the Bears’ pep band. “To be involved with such an amazing group of performers is beyond words.

“This will be a wonderful and unforgettable event for our members, as well as a great way to showcase and represent Mercer University.”
