MACON, Ga. – Mercer freshman
Lindsey Lowrie poured in 19 points on five-of-nine shooting from three-point range to help the Bears claim a 80-63 victory over GCSU in Thursday night’s women’s basketball exhibition game at the University Center.
GCSU never lead at any point during the contest and the game featured only one tie score (1-1).
Senior guard
Courtney Ford posted a double-double effort against the Bobcats, tallying 12 points and 14 rebounds in the winning effort. Senior
LaToya Jackson also finished in double-digit scoring, notching 13 points while contributing three steals, three assists and four rebounds.
GCSU junior Mandi Dudish led all scorers with 20 points. Bobcat sophomore Tammeisha Law recorded the visitor’s only double-double, scoring 11 points and adding 14 boards in the losing effort.
The contest marked Mercer’s first game of the season and only exhibition test. The Bears will begin their regular season slate on the road at Oklahoma on Nov. 13.
