SAPPHIRE, N.C. – The Mercer men’s golf team is set to compete in its final tournament of the fall season this week, on Nov. 2-3 at Western Carolina’s Hummingbird Invitational. The invitational features an 18-team, 102-golfer field taking aim at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley.
Participating in this year’s invitational are five teams ranked among Golfstat’s top-100 programs. No. 30 Chattanooga, No. 53 Vanderbilt, No. 62 Furman, No. 89 Wofford and No. 92 East Carolina headline the field.
The Hummingbird Invitational is a 36-hole event, with 18 holes of play on each day of the tournament.
Mercer is fresh off a 15th place finish at the Aldila Scenic City Invitational in Chattanooga, Tenn. At the Aldila invitational, Mercer finished ahead of both College of Charleston and South Florida.
