Bears' Rifle Team Takes Fifth in First Match of the Season

Charleston S.C. – Mercer shooters took fifth place in the first Southeastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) match of the season Saturday afternoon at the Inouye Marksmanship Center on the campus of The Citadel.
The Bears had an overall score of 1,678 to edge Augusta State, with Jonathan Podriznik leading the Orange and Black with a score of 492 in the event to claim 26th.
Weitnauer (436), Cam Yeaty (403) and T.Malcolm (347) finished 30th, 31st and 32nd, respectively for Mercer.
North Carolina State took home top honors with a total score of 2,304 and host the Citadel garnered second place with 2,257 points.
The order of finish was NC State, The Citadel, Clemson, Georgia Military College, Mercer and Augusta State.
