MACON, Ga. – With the season bearing down and the teams less than a week away from opening their seasons, the Mercer basketball coaches’ shows officially got underway with the programs’ first taping Tuesday night in the University Center’s Bear Rock Café.
First-year women’s head coach Janell Jones and men’s head coach Mark Slonaker each were in the spotlight as host Rick Cameron, the radio “Voice of the Bears”, moderated the 15-minute programs, with coach Jones leading off the night.
The coaches’ shows, which will be recorded on a monthly basis from October through December and weekly on Tuesday night starting January 3, 2008, will air on Cox Cable’s channel 15 on Friday nights at 6:30 and Saturday mornings at 8:30 a.m.

Becki Sandifer, New Media Designer for the university, along with Mercer students John Wooden and Jordann Hall are producing the shows.
Fans are welcome and encouraged to attend the show to express their support for the Bears!
