The Sports Information Office is responsible for all aspects of athletics media relations for Mercer University's intercollegiate teams: Men- football, baseball, basketball, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, golf, and tennis.  Women- volleyball, soccer, cross country, basketball, golf, sand volleyball, softball and tennis.

Sports Information Office
Mercer University welcomes and encourages your interest in Mercer athletics. We will make every effort to service your needs in covering the Bears. The Sports Information Office maintains information on all current student-athletes and athletics department staff, as well as historical data on former athletes. The Sports Information Office is located in Suite 135 on the first floor of the University Center.

Credential Requests
The Sports Information Office will issue credentials to working press only. Credentials for home basketball games can be obtained by e-mailing or calling the Sports Information Office. All credential requests should be made in at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled contest.

Visiting Radio Personnel
Visiting radio personnel desiring to broadcast athletics events are encouraged to contact the appropriate staff member in MU's Sports Information Office at the earliest possible date to request permission to broadcast.

Media Workroom
A media workroom, located in Suite 134, adjacent to the Sports Information Offices, will be available for use by media before and after games.

Media Services
Games notes, updated team and individual statistics, information on upcoming games, Atlantic Sun Conference standings and the latest information - when applicable - will usually be available two days prior to each game throughout the season. These items, as well as available opponent materials, can be picked up before every game at the appropriate venue.

Copies of the box score and play-by-play can be e-mailed or faxed to your outlets at the conclusion of each game, home or away.

Bears on the Web
All the latest news concerning the Mercer athletics program and all MU athletic teams is available at Mercer's official website: www.mercerbears.com

Press Row Services
Working media will be provided with box score statistics. For men's and women's basketball games, box scores will be provided at each media timeout, halftime and immediately following each game.

Practices
As a general rule, all practices are open to the media and the public. There may be instances, however, when all or part of a practice session is closed. Please contact the Sports Information Office in advance if you plan on attending a practice session so an escort can be made available.

Interview Policy
Media interviews of players and coaches are encouraged, and every effort will be made to accommodate media requests. In-person interviews are preferred, but telephone interviews can be arranged through the Mercer Sports Information Office. Under no circumstances will student-athlete's residence numbers be supplied to the media.

Interviews
All interviews with Mercer student-athletes should be coordinated through the Sports Information Office. Players are generally available for interviews up to 30 minutes prior to the start of practice and directly afterward. However, these guidelines vary by team/coach and are subject to change.

Post-game Interviews
Following a 10-minute "cooling off" period, coaches and players from both teams will be made available to media outlets. The Sports Information staff will be glad to assist media members in securing players for interviews.

Fax & E-mail Service
Media outlets may request to be included on the broadcast fax and e-mail lists to receive news regarding Mercer athletics. The Mercer Sports Information fax number is (478) 301-5350. To be added to the daily e-mail list, send a message with such request to sportsinformation@mercer.edu.
