The Bears’ feature 14 intercollegiate programs – baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s cross country, women’s cross country, men’s golf, women’s golf, men’s lacrosse, sand volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, softball, men’s tennis, women’s tennis and women’s volleyball.

Mercer is a charter member of the Atlantic Sun Conference. All of the Bears’ programs - with the exception of men’s lacrosse and sand volleyball - compete within the A-Sun Conference for regular season titles, as well as post-season tournaments with automatic bids to the NCAA championships.

The sports of rifle and men’s lacrosse compete as NCAA I independents, while sand volleyball has been recognized as en “emerging sport” by the NCAA.

Mercer’s student-athletes also annually compete for A-Sun post-season individual awards, regional honors and All-America accolades. Equally, if not more, important is the fact that MU encourages, promotes and recognizes the importance of having its student-athletes recognized for their academic abilities in concert with athletic skill via such means as the A-Sun Scholar-Athlete teams, ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program and various other national organizations for each sport.
